After the unmountable boot volume error, I formatted the HD using a Win 98 start disk, still got the error, then ran fixboot and fixmbr form the Xp repair console. XP then installed great but XP only sees 2 gig of my 5.25 gig HD. My bios only sees 2 gig also. I have reformatted using XP repair console, Deleted partitions, re-installed untill I am blue in the face. I changed the settings in the bios to user defined HD with the number of cylinders, sectors and heads, it then shows 5.25 gig but windows fails to see it... please help.... and Thank You! (by the way, did you know that 2 gigs is not enough room to install XP Pro and XP Service pack 1? I was shocked)

Were you?! Obviously can't read then as the system requirements clearly
state that "1.5GB is required for minimum installation". A 5GB hard drive is
pathetically small to be using with XP anyway. You can purchase an 80GB for
about £70 so there really is no excuse. You cannot install XP and all your
applications, surely, on a 5GB drive?!
