Unlink a Table

I am very new to Access and I need to pull a static text file into Access to
run update queries to modify a specific field. When I design the queries and
run them, they stop and give me an error about something "not being supported
by this ISAM". I am assuming that this is taking place because the table is
still linked to the original text file, right? How to I unlink it, or at
least allow myself to modify the data in the table. Any help is greatly
appreciated, as I said, I'm new to this.

Thanks,
Jonathan G.

you know.. i just discovered some additional ISAM drivers installed by
Visual Studio of all apps.. I dont know if that would help; but I was
meaning to look into installing VB6 and choosing a custom
installation-- in order to see if this gives you more ISAM
functionality or what the story is
