Unknown NTFS Partition

I recently installed Windows XP Professional in a
multiboot system with Windows 2000 Professional. I have
a two drive system. The first drive has two partitions:
one primary NTFS partition and one extended NTFS
partition. Windows 2000 boots from the extended NTFS
partition. These partitions are both visible. The second
drive has three partitions: two extended NTFS partitions
and one primary NTFS partition. Windows XP boots from the
second extended NTFS partition. However, the other two
NTFS partitions are not visible. The Disk Management
utility lists their Status as Healthy (Unknown
Partition). Does anyone know why this is occurring? Is
there anything simple I can do to make these partitions
visible to Windows XP? They are all visible to Windows
2000!

John, Can you please explain what you mean by "the drives were hidden" I'm having the same issue. When I try to install Windows XP on a two drive system XP does not see my 2nd drive and only gives me the option to install XP on my "C" drive.

Thanks,

Dennis J.

Dennis,
When I used Partition Magic to look at my 2nd drive, two
partitions were marked as hidden. I don't know how they
got that way. At any rate, I used Partition Magic to
restore them to a visible state. Everything work fine
then. I was a little nervous since there was a warning
that the drive letters might change. If that had
happened, I would still be trying to straighten out a
mess! However, things went smoothly, and I can see all
partitions from both Windows 2000 and Windows XP.
