Uniquely reference a document

I am preparing a questionnaire. The questionnaire is a multiple page document
and i will be printing multiple copies. Can anyone tell me how to give each
copy a unique reference? Please bear in mind that i have to print
approxiamtely 100 copies. I do not want to have to laborously copy and paste
100 copies and put a reference on each page individually!!

The appropriate way to do this is via merge. Put the reference number into a
Word table, Excel file, Access file, etc.. Go through the mailmerge steps,
link the reference number file to the questionnaire document, and insert a
mailmerge field for the reference number. Then complete the merge.
