Sabrina

I currently have windows xp professional on my computer
and would like to remove it and install windows xp home.
In add/remove program I do not have a windows xp
professional program to remove.

However my product id code belong to a school or
organization. This is how I got the computer and have no
discs to help me with this issue. I have purchased
windows xp home addition cd and would like to just
uninstall xp professional and install the home edition.

Can someone please tell me how to do that? PLEASE

I keep having problem with xp professional and some of my
program don't work properly.

Two points.

1. You can not literally uninstall XP Professional. All you can
do is reformat and do a clean installation of XP Home.

To do so, just boot from the Windows XP Home CD and follow the
prompts for a clean installation. It will do the reformat for
you.

You can find detailed instructions here:
http://michaelstevenstech.com/cleanxpinstall.html

2. XP Home is a subset of XP Professional; the only difference
between the two is that Professional includes a few features
(mostly related to networking and security) missing from Home.
There is nothing in Home that's not also in Professional

If some of your problems don't work properly in Professional
there is no reason to expect that switching to Home will fix
them.

If you're having problems with XP Pro, you'll have the same problems
with Home. Anyway, in order to install Home you must completely
remove Pro first. You can remove Pro by booting your machine with
the XP Home CD and do a clean install.

Greetings --

The only way to change from WinXP Pro to WinXP Home is to
format the drive and start over. There is no supported downgrade path
or technique.

Simply boot from the WinXP Home installation CD. You'll be
offered the opportunity to delete, create, and format partitions as
part of the installation process. (You may need to re-arrange the
order of boot devices in the PC's BIOS to boot from the CD.)
