Goodday

i have windows 2003 server running on my pc i am having trouble installing oracle on this version of windows. How do i uninstall windows 2003 so that i can be able to install windows 2000 professional and install oracle on windows 2000 professional? Thanks

That will have to be a clean (new) install of W2k. Start the W2k
install, and during the install process you will be able to delete,
create, and format your new W2k partition. Be careful to back up any
important data in the old W2003 partition first.

You do not uninstall, there is no uninstall of any windows OS of any kind.
You wipe and reinstall.

Greetings --

The normal way to "uninstall" _any_ operating system is to format
the hard drive and install a new OS of your choice.

Simply boot from the Win2K installation CD. You'll be offered the
opportunity to delete, create, and/or format the system partition as
part of the installation process. (You may need to re-arrange the
order of boot devices in the PC's BIOS to boot from the CD.)

FYI, that's no longer 100% accurate, I'm afraid.

If one performs an upgrade to WinXP from Win98/Me, elects to
backup the old system files, and doesn't convert the partition to
NTFS, then all one can boot into Safe Mode and click Start > Control
Panel > Add/Remove Programs to see an option to uninstall WinXP. Of
course, _all_ of these conditions _must_ be met for the uninstall
option to be available.

If you cannot boot directly from the W2k CD, then create the 4 W2k setup
diskettes from the W2k CD on any Win system.
[CD]:\bootdisk\makebt32.exe if on a 32-bit sys
[CD]:\bootdisk\makeboot.exe if on a 16-bit sys
