Uninstalling program without affecting other users

Hi,
I have been an Xp user for quite a long time now. I and my sister
share a single notebook PC (IBM Thinkpad) with Xp home edition. My sis is the
administrator. She has installed Yahoo Messenger 6.0. It has an annoying
habit of poping the messenger during start-ups. I don't use yahoo messenger.
I want to uninstall the messenger but i am afraid that she won't b able to
use. She uses it almost daily. If this is not possible, atleast is it
possible to make it stop running during start-ups. I tried deleting files
from the start-up folder in start menu. Though the folder shows it contains
84 bytes but i can't see anything inside the folder. I tried to see the
folder properties. But the properties windows does not show any hidden files.

Thank You,

with regards,
Ashwin

Murali,

I think the best you can do is uncheck Yahoo Messenger from the Startup
programs. It will still be installed but your sister & yourself will have to
click Yahoo Mess to open each time after she logs in. If she doesn't have a
problem with that here's how:

* 'Start' > Run > type MSCONFIG > OK > Startup >uncheck Yahoo Messenger > OK

* Go into your Start > Programs > Startup > right-click & delete any
reference to Yahoo Messenger if any. Good Luck.
