Uninstalling MYOB on Vista - Help Please

Hi I am trying to uninstall version MYOB Accounting Plus V16 that I loaded
onto VISTA (this is an unregistered version that I was having a look at).
Anyway, this version was Accounting Plus and I have now purchaased MYOB
Accounting V16 (not Accounting Plus (it is without Payroll)). Im trying to
uninstall Accounting Plus (unregistered version) but I cannot find it in the
list of programmes to be able to uninstall it. I cant delete and move the
files under programmes to the rubish bin because it wont let me (although I
can delete the folder under C drive and also the shortcut on the desktop).
Any thoughts how I uninstall MYOB? It is driving me insane!!! I have tried
to install my purchased version but it wont work properly - it is like the
Accounting Plus version overrides it all... I want to be able to uninstall
and start from scratch. I cant even see the one I have just loaded on (Plain
Accounting Version).

Have you tried running setup from the trial version and see if it will give
you the option to repair or remove it? Have you checked MYOBs website for
issues with trial version on Vista/Windows and how to go about removing it?

thanks for the reply. Ther version I first put on is not a trial version -
it is a full version of a friends (they have it on their computer) that I
loaded to have a look at (But I cant register it cause she has it registered).

I have now brought my own full version (except mine is Accounting and hers
was accounting plus).

I dont understand why it is not in the add/remove list in the control panel.
I have tried a few programmes mentioned in this forum for uninstalling, but
again they dont show up in the list to be able to remove / uninstall it.

I will have to give MYOB a call I think.

You can give MYOB support a call or try doing a System Restore to a point in
time before the software was installed.

Well, I have v16 (and 17) installed on Vista. Both appear in CONTROL
PANEL/PROGRAMS & FEATURES and are available to uninstall.

Have you tried borrowing the friends install Disk and insert that and see if
it gives an uninstall option from the disk start-up menu?

Note the program installs itself in the Root directory not in PROGRAM FILES.

Failing all that and assuming MYOB doesn't solve your problem, you could
just delete the directory C:\AccountingPlus16 and fix any stray registry
entries (I ain't recommending that but it is a dirty fix).

As you only register the Company MYO file not the program and that is done
on-line, will your new version not allow the MYO file to be registered?
