Hi, Have asked this before but forget now what to do. After using system
restore I have programs that can't be deleted have used ccleaner but still
not able to get rid of eg: trial Photoshop CS3. What now? Thanks

Try booting into Diagnostics mode then try uninstalling Photoshop CS3:
Open the 'Run' command - Windows key + R type in 'MSCONFIG' without qoutes,
hit Enter
Go to the General (tab)
Under Startup selection, select the "Diagnostics" radio box
Click OK

Click OK to restart when prompted

When in Diagnostics mode, try uninstalling, if successful, open back
MSCONFIG, General tab, this time select Normal startup click OK and click OK
to restart when prompted.

One of the pitfalls of using/mis-using system restore (in my opinion). You
install a program. 2 weeks later you restore to a point before the program
was installed. Some files and registry entries that go with the installed
program are no longer available and the program may well be broken - as well
as uninstall able.

Use TrueImage instead.

Agreed.

Use TrueImage instead.

Don't compute without it. A must have and worth the money.

What is TRUE IMAGE ? I kist backed up my files and was looking for info on
system restore and found your response.

I have backed up all my data - I am having problems with my systems- ie.
AFTER downloading pogo.com ( a game site) AND Win Live One...I have gone into
ADD/remove and removed the programs BUT Pogo is STILL on my desktop and it is
still usable ( ie. can click onto site)...there seems to be no way to remove
it.

In addition, my screen - upon signing in to my screen name- goes BLACK and
then desktop with icons flashes, then it flashes BLACK again and then desktop
finally loads. THIS was why I did a backup as I thought I needed to do a
system restore.

I do NOT want to screw up this computer any more than it already is...

I am running McAfee Security Suite as it is free with my isp.

Please help ....

Andy
