Uninstalling a lost program

I am currently trying to run AVG anti-virus and it keeps telling me that
there is an old version of Roxio Easy CD/DVD Creater in my computer. We did
try to get rid of this program by deleting it and clearing out the Recycle
Bin, but, I don't remember if we ever uninstalled it. I ran a search to look
for it, but, couldn't find it. Where else can I look and how do I uninstall
a deleted program?

Hello:

I had the same issue on AVG when I purchased the Network Edition of the
program.

In my case I still had the old version of Roxio still installed. I then
removed the program but even then when I tried to install AVG it kept giving
me a warning that the old Roxio program was still installed.

So having support available to me we went through a barage of tests
including me downloading a program to read parts of my registry and report
back to AVG.

What we came up with is I could install AVG without any issues. What seems
to happen here is when you uninistall Roxio it does remove the problem parts
that AVG complains about but leaves some registry keys that AVG sees and
thinks Roxio is still installed.

The reason they want you to uninstall the old Roxio is because it is not
compatible with AVG to a point where you will get blue screens on boot up if
both programs are installed.

They had me install AVG by ignoring the message and everything worked just
fine. They said as long as I did not get blue screens on boot up everything
was good. If the blue screens appeared I would need to boot in Safe Mode and
remove AVG.

That's all I got, I has no issues but can't guarantee you will come through
as clean as I did.
