Uninstaller Program

Before I upgraded from Win98SE to XPHome last summer, I often used a
Quarterdeck program: "Cleansweep Uninstaller". It appeared to do a fine
job of uninstalling all the parts of programs, and it's best feature was
that it saved the program so that it could be reinstalled if later one
found that it was needed (to read some old file, for example). The
edition I had was from 1998 and since that time Quarterdeck sold it off
to Norton's, and my copy of Norton's (Win95 era) is also not equipped to
deal with Win XP. Have looked at a couple of recent Uninstaller
programs, but they don't indicate that they have the "save" feature.
Anybody know of a replacement for Cleansweep?

Yes! It's called Clean Sweep.

Still available through Symantec as part of their Systemworks Package.

Thanks, Richard - I've found several sources for the Symantic
Systemworks Pkg, but don't really want to spend $30 to $60 for most of
which I probably never will use. Found two sources for Clean Sweep
alone, but it's version 4 or 5 (I believe) and only goes as far as
Win95, Millenium, or 2000. Doesn't include XP . . . so that won't work.
Maybe, one day, someone will upgrade the Clean Sweep program to use
with Win XP. Thanks again, Molin

Symantec may never again offer it as a stand alone product. It has been part
of SystemWorks for years now.
