uninstall Word 2003

I have WinXP and Office 2003.
Is it possible to uninstall Word and reinstall it without uninstalling and
reinstalling Office?

Why do you want to do that? It rarely fixes problems.

When I want to close a document it hangs for several seconds prior to
closing. Sometimes after I get a message saying "changes were made to the
normal....etc."
