uninstall windows NT

Somehow a windows NT folder was installed onto my
computer under program files. Now even though i am still
running XP, programs are recognizing NT and I get a lot
of "incompatibilty with this version of windows"
messages. IT wont let me remove the NT folder because it
says it is being used by some other program. I cant
download newer versions of software because then it
recognizes XP and says that I am up to date. Please
help!!!
 
everybody with XP has the NT folder...........look elsewhere for the solution
If you right click the EXE file and then properties try the compatability tab
