Uninstall Problem

Trying to uninstall a game from a friends PC. Tried going thru Windows Xp
add/remove option, no joy. Tried using the games own uninstaller, no joy.
Tried booting into safe mode and having a go, no joy. The program just hangs
and the CPU goes up to 100% under task manager. Anyone know anyway to get
this game off the PC? The game BTW is the latest version of Chessmaster.
