Uninstall previous version

The software I am developing is targeted to users with minimal computer
skills is it possible with the installer to setup up the following
logic.

Detect if previous version is installed, If So ask the user if they
wish to uninstall the previous version.

Sorry I am new to the Setup environment provided by Studio Whenever I
run the installer I get the following message:

Another version of this product is already installed. Installation of
this version cannot continue. To configure or remove the existing
version of this product use Add/Remove Programs on the Control Panel.
