I have about 60 NTUninstall folders (something like: $NtUninstallKB823182$).

Some of these are back to 2003.

Is there any reason to keep these around?

Thanks,

Tom.

Those are there in case you want to remove that update/hotfix. I keep
them around for a month or two to make sure things run all right after
the update. If things are fine then you can delete them. Also you can
delete their entries in Add/Remove programs after removing these
uninstall files.

Here is an automated tool to delete them at http://www.dougknox.com/ in
Win XP Utilities, Remove Hotfix Backup Files v2.1.6

Hi tshad,

Those folders contain the information necessary to uninstall the
Hotfixes/Updates that are referenced in each folder name. If you are certain
that you will NOT be needing to uninstall those particular Hotfixes/Updates,
then go ahead and delete them. Have a look here:
