Unexpected GOOD result when troubleshooting Uppercase in Picture Properties dialog.

Bear with me, because I didn't expect this.

I have 6 graphics which show on the website as red Xs.
In FP editor, all of them have been imported (long time ago) into the images
folder; have rechecked to make sure they are: spelled right, lowercase with
no spaces, short names, picture points to correct file name; have deleted
*.web caches; recalculated hyperlinks; saved the .htm pages the pictures are
on each time I do one of these checks, and every time I think I've done
everything, I upload the web again (for changed pages) and (to overwrite
web), etc.

When I look at the graphics' hyperlinks and Picture Properties, the
hyperlinks show the filename in lowercase; the Picture Properties show the
graphics' filenames begin with a capital letter.

In the past I have been able to correct this in the window where the picture
properties show (change F to f, for example, OK, and save the .htm file
again.) This no longer works. When I examine all the report pages in VIEW I
see no references at all that show the capital letters.

I just got through, again, (close local web; delete *.web cache, open
FrontPage/local web; recalculate hyperlinks. I did this because my next step
would be to go to the remote web and recalculate hyperlinks there to
synchronize. But the picture properties on the local web still show the
capital letters for those 6 graphics. No sense in continuing.
.......................................................
I don't write code, but have a small understanding of it for beginners.
I have just done a general search in the HTLM editor of each affected page
for 'match case' for the Picture Properties' file name with the capital
letters to change the uppercase letter to lower case.

Found all six; saved each page as I made the changes, closed all pages and
recalculated hyperlinks, and published changed pages. This final procedure
has corrected the problem.

The Unexpected Result from this exercise: No longer getting the constant
"The server sent a response which FrontPage could not parse..." etc..

Basically it's because on a Windows box, .jpg is the same a .Jpg or .JPG,
but not so on a Linux/Unix box...jpg is considered a different file from one
with .Jpg. Sooooo...always use lowercase for file names and you won't have
prob in future.
