undo move

On XP, I just moved a 500MB folder from one drive to another, then changed
my mind.

Moving took almost 10 times as long as 'undo move'. (With thrashing since
both are on the same HDD.)

So I guess it determines what has been overwritten and what hasn't.

Probably, XP read it out of the memory cache it keeps of recent disk
activity, if it has free memory.

Very likely. And with all the thrashing removed, writes will
be a lot faster.
