Undo feature causing lock up ... how do you disable Undo?

Got a call from somebody that is working with extremely
large spreadsheets. He is apparently getting a message
from excel after working in the spreadsheet for a little
while that Excel is running out of memory for handling the
Undo feature and then will lock up his system.

I don't know of a way to turn the Undo off or limit them
does anybody else?
