Why not "undesiredware"? At least someone could guess what you're
talking about.

Hi all,

I'm going to build a web-site to market the term.
So we'll see if it's common useage in the future and I've registered the
Copyright.

Thanks for the comments.

Regards

David.

That just attempts to be cutsy. God forbid we use more professional and
accurate terms, like covertware or sneakware. Spyware would just be a
subset of covertware.

Hmm, I didn't realize you could copyright slang, even when attempting to
establish it yourself. So who gets paid for the slang term "bling"?
You are proposing a term yet you then attempt to ban it from common
usage, so it appears you really did NOT want anyone else using that
term. Maybe it really should be called bozoware (and, no, I won't be
attempting to copyright a word that I am attempting to put into common
usage).

Who's trying to copyright a word, or slang ?
And nobody is attempting to ban anything.
If you have an idea then why not try to make it your own.

Of course if you had written 'Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Band', you wouldn't
have any objection to an Oasis of new songs being written from your original
works... oh sorry not a good example .... perhaps allegedly.

Then what was the point of adding the last line in your post?
And nobody is attempting to ban anything.

Then why attempt to copyright the word (and its definition which without
has a word with no meaning)?
If you have an idea then why not try to make it your own.

Why would I want to make it my own when I would be trying to get a huge
community of users to share the word and its meaning? Yeah, right,
everytime someone wants to use my made-up word then they have to provide
a footnote stating that I'm the author of that word and its definition.
So, for all the words used herein to these posts, see any footnotes yet
noting copyright?

Okay, I'm taking dibs on copyrighting "David" when used as an adjective
or verb instead of a noun, as in "he attempted to David the word".

Vanguard you are completely missing the point, do you want me to give you a
shovel or a JCB.

I'm not banning anything and I'm not copyrighting a word or a name !

Read the 'Debate should adware/spyware' thread above and it may clear this
up a bit.

Vanguard you are completely missing the point, ...

No, but you are. Go read your original post (and your reply to it). If
you don't want to copyright the word and its definition then stop
attempting to do so by using a copyright notification.

I'm not trying to copyright a word or a name or the definition of the word.

Simply, I've posted a copyright for the shortening of the term..

Undesired software that is loaded by any means
onto a Computer without the express wish or knowledge of the owner;
including Viruses, Malware, Trojans, Adware, Spyware and the like.

To

'Underware'

Is that really so difficult for you to fathom.

That doesn't mean that anyone using the term underware or underwear has to
pay a royalty or that I'm trying to ban it from English useage.

"Lassie go and get help"

Anyway I'm sure everyone's sufficiently bored with my underware and would
rather talk about something else.

End of thread.....
