Underlined checkboxes

I am trying to format a form that has checkboxes. Some of my checkboxes are
brown, some are black. I want them all consistently one color. I have not
been able to find a way to change the colors and when I go to the checkbox
properties and click OK, the checkbox will have an underline that wasn't
there before. At the very least, I need the underlines to go away. I would
rather be able to format the checkboxes as needed and not have the
underlines.

Please help.
 
Where are you getting your checkboxes? From the Forms toolbar? Or from the
Control toolbox? Either way, they should not change color. Sounds like you
have Track Changes on??
