Undelete a user account

Hey,

OS: Win XP
Recently, I deleted one of the user accounts on my
computer and now I have lost access to all those files
that were saved under that account. Is there a way to
regain access to those files or a way to retrieve that
user? I have tried system restore but it didn't help.

Hi -

The accidentally lost files might still be recoverable.

First . . . avoid do anything on your computer that would cause
anything to be written to the disk where the files used to reside.

Second, go to http://www.undelete.com/downloads/menu.asp and look for
the Deleted File Analysis Utility download. Get this utility --
preferably download it from another computer and copy it onto a floppy
disk, to avoid writing to the disk where the lost files were.

Third, run the Deleted File Analysis Utility to see which files can be
recovered. If the utility comes up with positive results, you can
recover the files with Undelete from Executive Software (available at
www.undelete.com).
