Unbale to scroll in document

I am unable to scroll down in a document, right after the scroll word moves
me right back to the top of the first page. Any ideas?

Are you still seeing this problem? With just one particular document, or all
documents? Which version of Word?

the version is 2003 and the problem (once it occures) applies to any
document that i open.

Interesting/odd/disturbing. I can't recall having ever come across anything like
this before. And it happens only in Word, no other application?

Does quitting Word, then restarting it make the problem go away? Or do you have to
leave Windows to recover from it?

I don't suppose there's any particular thing you do that might be triggering the
behavior?

When this happens with the scrollbar, are you able to use Page Down to move
through the document successfully? How about switching to a different view (from
Normal to Print Layout or vice versa)?
