I setup a job to automate a weekly backup on Windows 2000
Server to external hard drive. I'm not sure if I used
task scheduler or the backup wizard but didn't think it
would matter. Anyway, I was logged on as one user and
setup the job to run as another user, "backup", who was a
member of the backup operators group. The job did not
run. I found a KB article that said the bks files needed
to be moved from the Documents and Settings folder
location of the account that was used when the scheduled
job was created to either the same location for the
account under which it would run or another location to
which that account had access. I did the latter - created
a folder, gave the account had full control privileges but
it still didn't run. Anyone want to add some pointers to
this for me? Thanks.

If you used the wizard then it created a scheduled task
that referred to an instruction file with an extension of .bks.
Launch the Task Scheduler via the Control Panel, then
examine your backup job in detail (in particular the .bks file!)
in order to take the guesswork out of the whole thing.
