unasked for downloads

was checking event viewer, seems i have a lot of problems, one is a download
for nospymail, and according the date and time, the download didnt take, ran
search and it cant be found, went to downloads in firefox and its listed as a
zip file, i wasnt home when it was downloaded, im in the habit of unplugging
my internet connection when i shut off my computer, im on cable. and once a
week, i go into into safe mode, offline, after update ing all my 'anti'
programs, and scan the system using all of them, ad-aware, spybot,a-squared,
avg, stinger, spy sweeper, and i have spyware blaster, ,i recently added zone
alarm free, was relying on windows firewall before that, thanks, , how did a
download happen?

It doesn't matter how much security you have on your computer, there is
always going to be a way in, patches, updates, and security software only
make it harder, but it's always possible. As for the download, if you can't
find the file that's been downloaded, it probably deleted itself. it could
be as bad as a self replicating virus, or some type of spyware; or it may
just have been an automatic update for one of the programs you're running.
either way, scan for spyware and viruses and if nothing is found don't worry
about it.
