Hi,

I'm unable to see www.imageshack.us

I'm not running a firewall nor proxy. My ISP is not blocking this site. I've
cleared cache, cookies in IE yet there is no way for me to access it!

But on my other computer I'm running the same software, same ISP, and it
works fine!

This is a big problem for me as I use this site very often and am unable to
view any images hosted on it! This has been going on for a few days now, yet
like I said, from my other computer it works fine!

It's really important for me to solve this problem!

Any ideas?

Thanks

Just an idea. Shortly after I switched to WinXP Pro there were a few web sites
I couldn't see also. I called the manufacturer of my computer and they told me
to go to the Java site, think it is Java.com, and update my java. I did and
everything started working just fine. Worth a try?

But the sites worked fine and then they just stopped!

Anyways, I tried this and it didn't solve my problem! In the meantime I've
also recovered my system to factory settings but I'm still unable to see
imageshack.

While on my other computer everything works fine! Like I said, everything is
the same except IP (ISP is the same)! Is this a possible error? My friend
said something about DNS but I don't know what he was talking about!

Any more ideas?

I do not know what the problem is, but it has nothing to do with java. I
have no java of any kind and http://www.imageshack.us/ opens fine for me.

Do you have a custom HOSTS file?
If so look in there to see if imageshack is listed.

Look to see if imageshack is listed in Restricted sites in IE.

IE | Tools | Internet Options | Security tab | Restricted sites |
Sites button

Hi,

I've called my ISP and they change my IP for me, now I can access
www.imageshack.us but can't view www.rapidshare.de!

Needless to say those two are the sites that I most often go to!

How do I check if I have HOSTS file and what do I look for in there if I
find it?

Thanks

FWIW, I just accessed www.rapidshare.de , but I happen to know that since I
do not have java I cannot download any files.

Try emptying your Temporary Internet Files and deleting all cookies.

To delete *all* Temporary Internet Files...

1) Start | Run | Type: inetcpl.cpl | Click OK
Or right click the Internet Explorer icon on your Desktop
Or Start | Settings | Control Panel | Internet Options
Best to do this with all instances of Internet Explorer closed. Especially
if there are a large number of files.
2) On the General Tab, in the middle of the screen, click on Delete Files
3) Check the box Delete all offline content {This cleans >>
%userprofile%\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files
AND
%userprofile%\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5
and \Content.MSO (Created by an MS Office program)}
4) Click on OK and wait for the hourglass icon to stop after it deletes the
temporary internet files
5) You can now click on Delete Cookies and click OK to delete cookies that
websites have placed on your hard drive.

HOSTS is a file with no extension.

Paste this into the Start | Run box and click OK...

%windir%\system32\drivers\etc\HOSTS

You'll get the Open With pop up, choose Notepad to open HOSTS with.
