If you have Windows XP Service Pack 2 installed, you could use this method:
START > RUN > cmd (Click OK or press Enter on the keyboard)
(The Command Prompt Window appears)
(Press Enter after each of the following commands)
cd\ (puts the prompt back to the root of C
netsh winsock show catalog lsp (this will help to identify what is damaging the winsock keys)
netsh winsock reset catalog (this will repair the winsock keys)
exit (closes the Command Prompt Window)
(Restart the computer)
Try browsing the Internet -
Note: If you have some spyware that is corrupting the Winsock Keys, then
it may just damage the winsock keys again and so it is best to rid the system
of spywares prior to trying to repair the winsock keys.
