Unable to reconnect to Remote Desktop (Windows XP SP2)

NOPE.
it must be a SP2 problem.
for i have the same problem, too, when updated WindowsXP to the latest
sp_version on the server.

when i uninstalled all the sp files, RDP can work correctly.

New discovery:
on several systems of different XP version, Windows undoes the RDP settings
automatically every time OS reboots.
so RDP clients would never succeed in connecting and logging into the host
OS.

But the XP on my TP laptop works well.

I don't know how comes this.
P.S. I've checked both through the `services' settings and Windows Firewall
settings.
