I've heard that Trend antivirus is still the best for 64-bit Vista, even
though
a recent version (details not available) causes assorted problems in Windows
Mail. If you have a paid version, see if that gives you the option to ask
Trend
for improvements, such as adding the ability to turn off email scanning and
more thorough testing of what it does to Windows Mail.
It's your choice of whether to keep it installed and have the problems it
causes in Windows Mail. Microsoft doesn't seem to be offering updates
for Windows Mail any more, or even reading this newsgroup. They're
putting most of their email effort towards Windows Live Mail, their new
email program that is a little more resistant to email scanning, and
Outlook,
which comes in several extra-cost software packages.
