Hi,

I am unable to open an Excel file that I have used weekly for the past 7 years. I get the message "unable to read file". All other Excel files appear to be behaving themselves.

Can someone help please.

Do you know anyone that has Excel XP or Excel 2003, as these have detect and
repair options that may fix this for you. Also, you can try the free download
OpenOffice from www.openoffice.org (60MB though), as the Spreadsheet element of
that suite OpenOffice.Calc will also open many Excel files that Excel can't.

Failing that, if it's not too big a file (Anything up to about 3 MB is OK) and
you are able to mail it out, then by all means send me a copy and I'll try it
will all 3 of those for you. Be aware though, that I work for Lockheed Martin
in my day job so make sure there is nothing I shouldn't be seeing, and you need
to take the NOSPAM bit out of my email address.
