unable to print in IE - Windows XP

J

Judy

Hello,
I am unable to print anything from IE. If I try to print
an email or anything off the web I receive an Internet
Explorer Script Error.
Line: 639
Char: 1
Error: Invalid Argument
Code: 0
URL: res://C:\WINDOWS\system32\shdoclc.dll/preview.dlg

Do you want to continue running scripts on this page?

I went to the site:
http://inetexplorer.mvps.org/answers3.htm#preview_dlg
as previously suggested for another person, but I am
using Windows XP.

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Try to disable third-party browser extensions in Internet Explorer. Follow
these steps:
1. Start Internet Explorer.
2. On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
3. Click the Advanced tab.
4. Click to clear the Enable third-party browser extensions (requires
restart) check box.
5. Click Apply, and then click OK.

Hi johnb :)

You may need to update your printer driver. Go to the website for your
printer and download and install the most recent driver for that printer for
your OS.

This error can be cause by adware. Do the following:

Go to Tools>Internet Options>Advanced tab
Uncheck the option for "Enable third-party browser extensions"
Click Apply
Click OK
Close the browser.
Restart the browser and attempt to print

If this resolves your problem, then you have some form of scumware on your
