unable to print in color

I am hoping someone can at least suggest how I can troubleshoot this
problem.

I have a Xerox DocuPrint M750, and I have always had the default set
to print in "black/white". Today, I wanted to print in color, so I set
the option accordingly, except the printout is still in black. I know
I have plenty ink in all the color cartdriges, so I have no idea why
the printer would not print in color. The printer otherwise works ok.

If I recall correctly, I last printed in color a few months ago.

Blocked printer heads perhaps? Try a cleaning cycle or two. Does the
printers own test page print in colour?

Once the cartridges are opened, they can dry up in just a few months.
Open the printer properties, and print a test page.

I thought about that, so I did cleaning of the heads, which did not
help. I could also see the level of ink from Properties, plus I
removed the cartridges to check them, all have ink left. I did a test
page but there's no color on it.

As you are getting no colour on the test page then you can probably assume
that the printheads are blocked, the manual
(http://download.support.xerox.com/pub/docs/M760/userdocs/any-os/en/Qrefguide.pdf)
indicates that you can clean the printheads manually.

Ink does not last forever.

Is is a genuine brand ink or third party?

I have had some shocking after market ink cartridges.

Can you print a test pattern?

As someone suggested, you may need to clean the colour heads several times
to get the ink flowing again.
