Unable To Open Word Document in Windows Mail

I'm currently using Version 6 of Windows Mail and Windows Vista Home Premium
Version 6 Operating Using and Office 2003.


When I attempt to open up a Word Document as an attchment that I receive as
an email attachment, I get the following message:

"This File does not have a program associated with it for performing this
action...."

I have opened and identified MS Word in the "associate program" section. I
am also able to save the attachment to my desktop and open it. I'm just
unable to double click on the attachment in the email to open it". I don't
have any problems opening an Excel attachment, just Word.
