Unable to open websites

I am not sure what is going on but I cannot open random
internet sites on my computer using IE6. Two examples are
www.adobe.com and national.usta.com. I was able to open
them before but now when I try I get an error message that
the sites cannot be found. What is causing this?

Check for a file named HOSTS with no extension (not Hosts.sam). It may be a
hidden file. Open it with Notepad and remove any line referencing the site.
Or, rename HOSTS to OLDHOSTS
