unable to open pst created in a different computer

I have 3 PSTs created in Outlook 2003. Now I whish to open them in Outlook 2000

I am going to File->open->Personal folder file

I am getting the following error
1) "Properties for this information service must be defined prior to use"

Press Enter

2) Filename.pst could not be accessed. Access Denied.

I have 3 yrs of data stored. Pls help me open the pst.

If those pst files were created in the new Unicode format (which is the
default format in Outlook 2003) then you are out of luck. You will need to
open them in Outlook 2003, create a new pst file in Outlook 97-2002 format
and copy the data across to that pst file.

Not AFAIK - you can download a trial copy of Office 2007, which uses the
same format pst file and use that to create backwards-compatible pst
files...
