I copied a worksheet (personal.xls) from one cpu (office
97) onto a disk this worksheet contained all of the
macros I have recorded and/or writen over the years. I
am now trying to open this file on my new cpu (windows
XP) and it is saying that this file is not in a
recognizable format. Any help on retrieving my macros??

Thanks
Roger

and I have security set to medium, and I have opened
other excel files off of the disk that contains the file
in question.

Hi Roger

You're sure the disk contains the actual file and not just a shortcut to it
?

Best wishes Harald

Yup I'm sure, and the file size indicateds it has lots'o
stuff on it, just can't get it open..

Hi
one idea: goto 'Tools - Options - General' and make sure 'Ignore other
applications' is unchecked
