unable to 'open folder' using data file management

I need help in opening a .pst folder I created 4 months ago just recently
removed from my list of accessible 'data files'.

I use /file / data file management / open folder.

I go to the folder where I have the .pst file (f:\My Documents\outlook) and
select the desired file math022-sp07.pst.

When I double click on this file, I have a message box "A dialogue box is
open. Close it and try again". I can not locate any open dialogue box to
close.

I have tried closing outlook 2003 and reopening.
I have tried rebotting my computer and then opening outlook 2003.
I can not locate any open dialogue box.

How do I re-attach this file to outlook 2003?

I greatly appreciate any help that can be given.

Do other PST files open following the steps you're trying to use?
