Unable to open database

The database was working fine until one user tried to make a back up copy
while another was trying to save data. Now neither user can access the
database.
When the Icon is clicked the first Access Screen comes up but not switchboard.

The Screen that comes up is blank except for the bar across the top..I.e.,
File Edit View Insert Tools Window Help.


All other databases come up fine.. Any clues? Thanks.

Copying an open database is almost CERTAIN to generate a corrupt copy,
since the file might well be in an inconsistant state (some operation
partially complete) at the instant that the copy is made.

What database was being copied? A backend in a split database, or a
single shared .mdb file? Do both the original and the copy now fail?
Can you select File... Open and navigate to either of the mdb files?
Do you get any different result if you hold down the SHIFT key while
opening it?
