Unable to open C drive

When I double click on C drive I get a dialogue box 'Open with' and it lists
all my applications such as excel, word,etc.
If using right click on c drive, the open command does not work but can be
opened using explore. Have run anti virus scans several times and no
infections were found.
 
there is no virus. some bad applications lile yahoo messenger and
other can affect your system. I usually break down c: and cannot open
it because of yahoo mess and probably because of its interraction with
some other bad application.

my solution is simple, I use System restore and try to guess at which
point it used to work. You can secquentially try to restore untill you
bring it back to a good point. Be very carefull, you have to TURN OFF
system restore on any other drive than C: (assuming that is your
system drive). If you dont do this BEFORE restoring system to a good
point, it will affect your folder structure on D:, E: etc.
