Unable to open Access files from Network

We have some Microsoft access files that users run from their desktop.
Normally all the users working on Windows 2000 Professional can access
the file using Office 2003, i create a shortcut for the source file on
users desktop from where they run the file,but some users running
Office 2003 on Windows XP Professional can't open from the shortcut on
desktop. They have to manually open Microsoft Access then browse
through the map drive n then open the file. Is there any reason the
files can't be open using the shortcut on desktop in Win XP? any
suggestions plz

When posting *why* they can't open these files (error message?), someone
of this group might be able to help.
