unable to open a word document

On my laptop I saved all my files from a floppy disk to a CD. Now when I put
it in my new computer it will not open and says acess denied. HELP

Copy the files you want to edit from the CD to your hard drive.

If the CD was written as a CD±R you cannot write to it again. If it was
written as a CD±RW you may be able to write additional data to the CD but
you can't edit the files that are already stored on it.

For future reference, *never* attempt to open a Word file directly from
removable media. It will cause serious problems (more sooner than later).
