Hello,

All of a sudden I am unable to move or copy files or folders within My
Documents. When I try to move a file or folder I get the dialogue box with
tree pane with the + infront of all of the choices. The plus signs are not
active to open sub catagories. When I attemp to move just to my documents or
another choice the machine locks up and says that the program is not
responding. Then when I attempt to (x) out of the program I get a dialogue
box to either end the program or cancel to return to windows. When I end the
program it closes everything. At that point I have to restart Windows
totally because my firewall is not longer displayed in the systray. I have
run all of the anti-spyware, anti-malware, spybot search and destroy,
anti-virus programs that I have on my machine to no avail. None of them find
any problems. I would appreciate any input as to how to restore the move
files or folders option. This problem happened all of a sudden.

Thanks in advance.

Hello Jeff,

Your system has a symptom that points to a very recent MS security update problem.
See my post at Aumha.net

Please post back with any questions, and report back on progress.

I had a similar problem Jetflow until I removed (control panel>add/remove
programs, tick, show updates) critical update KB908531. I think it will work
for you too.--

Hello Maurice,

You have solved my problem completely with the link to the registry zip file
correction. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Hello Nicholas,

Thank you so much for your suggestion. I did not have to go as far as
removing the security update #KB908351. The registry patch mentioned in
Maurice's answer solved my problem.
