unable to make outlook default

Since installing windows XP (professional) I have not been able to get
Outlook to act as default and recieve messages. I was thinking that the
firewall may be blocking incomming messages for some reason?????? Is this
correct?? any way around it. I prefer to use outlook rather than OE.
Outlook Express does wpork as the default

- Launch Internet Explorer.
- Click Tools / Options / Programs
- Select your preferred EMail program
 
What version of outlook are your running?
Did you configure accounts in Outlook?
Take a look at Internet explorer tools/ inernet options / programs is
outlook selected as the defalt email client?
