Unable to Logon

I rebooted my W2K PC today and once the GUI came up, it took a long time at "windows
is starting up" then again a long time at "starting network connections".

I finally got the login prompt and when I logged in as my user and also tried the
administrator, I got a messaging saying Logon Message as the box header and then
"The system cannot log you on now because the domain (and it listed the domain my PC
was set to) is not available.

Any ideas? I really need to get back into this PC.

Thanks in advance!

Hi David,

Could be a problem with DNS. Try to pull out the networ cable and start
your pc. Log in and reconnect the network cable. Wait for the pc to
receive an IP address.
Open a command prompt and do a ipconfig /flushdns.
Try to reboot and login again and see if everything works. If not,
repeat the procedure above and remove the computer from the domain.
Reboot and then rejoin the computer to the domain.
Works for me every time.

Good luck,
Pascal
