Hi

I have a work machine that logs on to thedomain using account
credentials. These credentialsare also haveadmin rights on thelocal
machine. When i work at home my domain credetials ar cached and I can
log on to the machine locally.

I wanted to transfer some work from my home laptop on tomy work
laptop. I have across over cable and so decided toadd both machinesto
aworkgroup and share my drives.

I logged on to my work laptop and changed the the tcpip settings for
my machine to a public address of 192.168.0.11 after rebooting the
machine I am now unable to logon to my work machine. My cached
credentials for domain\username no longer work now to logon to the
machine. neither does computername\username credentials. I do not know
the local administrator password or the local guest password

Is there any way I can access my machine through the safe mode options
or do I have to wait till I get back to work and get the Servicedesk
to send desktop support who have the admin passwords...

thanks for any help in advanced

You don't need to add the work computer to the workgroup to share and you should not do so. If you do, you won't be able to access the local computer using the domain username. You need your work administrator to re-setup the computer if you don't know the local administrator password.
