Unable to locate dialog box to close so I can send a message

My Outlook 2007 will not let me compose "new mail" because I have a dialog
box open. I am unable to locate any open dialog boxes to close. Turning off
and turning on the computer does not help. I am stuck... I can receive mail
ok.
