Unable to load large application over 2GB

Dave Jones

We are running models on a Windows 2000Pro IntelP4 based
machine with 2GB RAM and 6GB virtual-mem.

The application tries to allocate more than 2GB, and fails
on "hardware cannot allocate more than 2GB" error.

Is there any way to increase Windows 2000Pro application
2GB memory allocation limit?

Regards.

Dave,

No not for Windows 2000 Pro. In Windows 2000 Server you can use /3gb in
boot.ini which gives the system 1 gig and applications 3 gig. Take a
look at this article for a description.
