Unable to launch

When I try to launch I get, "Internet Explorer has
encountered a problem and needs to close.

In Windows (presumably), you might try going into the
Task Manager. First, exit all Internet Explorer
applications, then...

Either hold down the CTRL & SHIFT keys and hit the ESC
key to enter the Task Manager. Using the CTRL +ALT
+DELETE buttons simultaneously will also take you there.
On the Processes tab, click the heading labeled "Image
Name" or "Process" so the programs are listed
alphabetically. Locate any instances of Internet
Explorer. If you find any, right click over the label
(over "Internet Explorer") and select End Process Tree.
If that option is lowlighted and doesn't allow you to
select it, then elect "End Process".

That might do the trick.

If not (or if you don't locate any IE processes running
with the Task Manager), let reply to this and I'll try to
remember what else I did to resolve the same problem when
I was having it recently...

I got the same problem...any solutions yet?

Tried control alt delete ...nothing was there...rebooted
thinking it would fix problem...still wont launch.
I have not added any rencent software changes nor knowingly
downloaded or ran any rogue software or applications..i did
get a weird email a few days ago...but didnt see any files
attached.

I have a similar problem. If I set homepage to
my.msn.com it will not get there and will give a similar
error as mentioned here. I have also looked at the
process mentioned here but nothing is running. The mod.
name is sysrk32.dll instead of the one mentioned here. I
have uninstalled and reinstalled IE. If I set options so
that home page is realtypro.com then it goes there but
when I try for next page it stops. Most of Help and
Support works except I was unable to post this message
and had to use my secretaries machine. I was unable to
get into Windows Update until I went via the Help and
Support method. Then I get there and to Knowledge base.
No way when going directly via the browser. Any ideas?
