I am unable to launch any MS XP core programs. I am
running XP Pro. I am unable to launch control panel,
explore, IE, etc...
I was able to get online via AOL. I have run updated virus
software, I have restored to past dates. I tried safe
mode. the second time I tried safe mode, things appeared
to work, while in safe mode I was unable to find any
issues. I returned to normal mode and I have the same
problems. Does anyone have any idea. The only idea windows
is giving me sometimes is an error that states that a
resource dll will not load.

Download ToolbarCop and inspect the BHO section
http://www.mvps.org/sramesh2k/toolbarcop.htm
Double-click each BHO and it copies the CLSID to clipboard. Post all the CLSIDs listed there. Don't delete them yet.

Thank you very much. That did the trick, I dumped the ones
that were not recognized.
How did you ever figure that out?

Most of the problem of this sort are caused by malware Browser Helper Objects. Though Ad-Aware and Spybot can remove the unwanted items, I just wanted to know which BHO is causing this. BTW, this handy problem was written by me just to facilitate browser add-on management and make it transparent to users. I still advice you run Ad-Aware ( update it ) to spot any other malware files/cookies/data miners etc etc..
