Unable to install on an "old" motherboard - no disk found

I have an Intel 875P Chipset motherboard.

Configuration is
IDE Master 0: DVD reader
IDE Slave 0: empty
IDE Master 1: CD reader
IDE Slave 1: HD 160GB new

The setup is not able to find ANY disk and continues to aks me for a driver
disk!

Anyone has tried this configuration?

Thanks,
M.

An 875P isn't old by my standards! When you boot, does the bios boot
screen show the hard drive? It shouldn't matter, but I'd but the HD as
primary and the CD or DVD as secondary.

Is old :D I have it since year 2003
Is still one of the best anyway :)
I'm plannig to change it with a 975X and Core Duo.

For the Disk:
- yes the bios reports it correctly
- it is identified and reported correctly from XP
- I'm able to install on it XP or other OS without any problem

I'll check the order (put it as master) to see if is a critical issue with
Vista setup.
